Hood River.

June 21st - 25th

Watching an ocean of fog, vanish. Milo McIver Park, Oregon. Views right to left of Mount Hood, Mount Adams, and Mount St. Helens.

After a round of golf at the park and a frigid jump in the water, I headed east to Hood River.

Outside of Hood River, up the crazy steep, rugged, rocky Riordan Hill dirt road, I found a spot to watch the sunset. Sleeping with the city lights panorama outside my windows.

When the inland heat of the day began to wade, I headed out to explore Hood Rivers's vast mountain bike trail system I was planted in the middle of.

Having tapped all my water, I reluctantly had to head down to town.

At the top of Hood River, I enjoyed a delicious lunch and Kombucha at Farm Stand in the Gorge. After, I found a few used books on my list while wandering around downtown, then consumed four beers at four different breweries. While sketching a patron at pFriem, I ran into fellow Vermont travelers, amazingly friends of my cousin Shari.

1. Working Hands Fermentation - best live music.
2. Pfriem Family Brewers - best beer.
3. Spinning Wheels Brewing Project - best vibe.
4. Double Mountain Brewery - best pizza.

I hung out in the heat, watching the kite-boarders along Hood Rivers, Columbia River for a few days before heading up to Washington.
