Sign restoration.

Previous repairs and rotten wood spiced up an attempt at repairing the historic sign for my great Aunt and Uncles house.
I started by carefully tracing the script to retain the original signs appearance.
After scrapping all the tender and rotten wood I filled the voids with small pieces of wood. Removing any loose nails and replacing them with screws.
Before painting, I used Bondo to fill the uneven wood layers making the sign appear like solid wood instead of the layers of wood and plywood. After priming and filling additional spots with woodfiller, I coated it twice with high gloss for durability, then once with semi-gloss for a nicer appearance.
The outlined script was transferred onto thicker stock, cutout, then used to trace back to the painted sign.
I then carefully brushed on the new script with three coats for solid coverage.
