“Do not go where the path may lead, instead go where there is no path and leave a trail.” - R.W.E.

Four day NH test trip.

July 19-22, 2022.

Before heading west, I wanted to take the van on a test trip.

Day one

I drove north to the Canadian border past the three Connecticut lakes camping in a boat launch to enjoy the sunset at the second lake.

Day two

I then drove south to Crawford Notch and hiked Mt. Pierce, chasing the ever-rising clouds. After a quick assessment, I continued chasing the overcast up Eisenhower, Monroe, and Mt. Washington.

I finished my 15.5-mile hike in Bedrock sandals with a mountain water run-off dip. With clean feet, I promptly assembled spicy beans, rice, and eggs for a well-earned dinner.

Day three

I drove down to Concord, NH, and played at my cousin Joe’s two favorite local Disc Golf courses Top O’ the Hill and NorthWind. I was sufficiently tired.

After golf, I successfully tested the van’s outdoor shower and drove around the east coast of Lake Winnepesaukee. Finding no suitable places to park, I began back to Vermont, resting beside a coffee shop for the night.

On day four, I arrived back in Vermont with ideas for a few van modifications.
